Here it is, the absolute 11th hour, but I just ran across a contest all my writer friends will want to enter. The prizes are like the bunch of grapes hanging out of reach of Aesop's fox ...Something to salivate over and wish, ardently, to possess.
I recently received the following from a fellow McMath researcher. In August 2006 I made a trip to South Central Pennsylvania in my continuing search for information about my 4th Great Grandparents, Samuel McMath and Ella Baxter. There are theories and much conflicting information about where they were born, where they came from, who their parents were, when they came to America, etc. However, it seems that none of this data can be accurately sourced or proven.
I have documentation (wills, photos, etc.), however nothing that will knock down the brick wall. All thoughts, ideas, disagreements or other information would be most welcome. Also, I would be pleased to share any of my pictures or data with McMath researchers. Jim Morey Fort Collins, CO
If anyone reading this blog is interested in the research I have on this line, please contact me and I'll send a gedcom.

Of Springtime - And Fencing - And Love
Sun slanted, golden, through the green of springtime's youth... darkly dappling trees and bushes, both.
You stood in shadows of the coming night, your shoulders bulging as the wire stretched tight, your legs braced far to give their greatest strength, your hands, so strong, played that great length of steel...
and it so slowly changed from slack to taut, just as the muscles of your back were wont.
I did not see a man whose weight of years rests heavily at times, and lends
to fears of weakness,
self-doubt,
or a general lack. Oh no! I saw youth's springtime in your back.
And seeing brought, again, love's first sweet thrill As in my heart I held you near me still.
God bless you always, my love.
